One of the joys of participating in the film festival was meeting up with other surfing film makers (or film making surfers) even if I didn't get to see their films. Elizabeth Pepin is one such member of the category. We spent some time talking San Francisco shop, film making shop and surf shop.
After so much shop, I was a little sore to have missed the screening of "One Winter Story," a film she co-directed about Sarah Gerhardt, the first woman to surf Mavericks.
While she was out here, Elizabeth tooled around and took some beautifully thoughtful photos at Rockaway and gifted me some via email. Check out her skills here, and try to catch "One Winter Story" if you can, I've heard it's a beaut.
